“Ellen Freeman is an author and poet from Suffolk. In 2023 she completed a Writer’s Residency at the Van Gogh Museum, and is currently working on a collection of essays and poetry inspired by the artist’s life.
Ellen was shortlisted for the Canterbury Festival Fiction Prize in 2022, and longlisted for the New Angle Fiction Prize in 2023. Ellen is currently studying MA Creative and Critical Writing at the University of Suffolk, and graduated from the Open University’s BA English Literature and Creative Writing programme in 2021. Her work has featured in Suffolk Reflections, as well as Suffolk Pride: We Are the One in Five, and she has presented work at both the Classical Association Conference (2024) and the University of Suffolk’s Phantasmagoria.
